how we came to be
We started on the property side instead of behind a mood board. We noticed the gap between design and performance. Tight budgets, turnover issues, and wasted dollars from poor choices were common problems. So, we decided to change the way things are done.
Cassie’s ability to make properties stand out in competitive markets is what launched her into design. Her Airbnbs were outperforming everything around them (booking faster AND earning more). And it was noticeable to other owners. Eventually, they started asking her to do the same for their places.
Kayla has been in multifamily for 13 years, working closely with asset managers and owners. She has always had an eye for design and making sure properties perform at the top of their market and portfolio, so she jumped in to help Cassie. Then Lauren came in with years of Airbnb experience and a gift for building investor trust. She’s raised millions in the STR space, built long-term partnerships, and scaled portfolios by fostering strong relationships.
Between the three of us, that’s more than 20 years running properties from Class A to C. So, when we say we know what we're doing...we know what we're doing. After talking together, we realized we were tired of seeing owners waste money on overpriced designers who delivered “pretty” but not profitable. So we built Alnu. Today, Alnu is known for modern interior design Houston owners can count on to lease faster and earn stronger returns.
